Hello Everyone!

My name is Kevin Decker, Music Producer/Musician. I have been a drummer most of my life, playing on any set I could get my hands on. I mostly played in a little jam band I put together in my time in the military. At each Duty Station I was in, i formed friendships with like-minded musical talent and created jam sessions with them. None of these bands ever produced any original songs, most we covered our favorite bands and songs. It wasn’t until about 2008 when I started to sit down and compose original songs. I was playing with some software I bought (Mixcraft) and doing remixes of popular songs, when I started putting loops together and forming a song. From there I purchased a MIDI keyboard and started writing my own riffs and drum loops. From there, I decided that I needed to learn more about what I was doing, so I decided to enroll into college at Full Sail. Once I graduated, I started doing pro bono work to build my portfolio.

As of right now, I am working on a project as a co-founder of a Fusion Rock band. For those that don’t know what a Fusion Rock band is, it’s where we take different genres of music (i.e. Classical, Jazz, Blues, etc.) and mix it with a rock base. So far, we have one original song and two covers. I will post more information about those at another time. My major influences in music have always been wide. I enjoy mostly all music and can find some sort of influence anywhere. From Beethoven to The Beach Boys, The Beatles to Eminem, and ZZ Top to Tim McGraw, all music has a place in my life.

My primary focus in the music industry is to open a recording studio, and maybe later start an independent record label. I want to provide a place for local talent to come and get the same resources a bigger studio would offer, but at lower cost. On a side project, I would love to continue making great music with the band I have going now. I would use the proceeds from this venture to make the studio dream a reality.
